Lind DNA sets new standards for sustainable table decoration

We are thrilled to announce that the Merchants have made an agreement to distribute Lind DNA sustainable leather table mats and other hospitality items to hotels and restaurants worldwide.

In the outskirts of Denmark’s second-largest city, Aarhus, design house Lind DNA has in a few years become one of the most popular sources of sustainable tabletop decoration, with the largest selection of table mats on the international market, featuring more than a thousand different variations of colors, shapes, and surfaces.

The concept of Lind DNA is that their products are made of high-quality recycled leather. Sourced from the surplus production of furniture, bags, and shoes, their vegetable-tanned leather is first being washed and granulated and then pressed together with natural rubber from trees. The resulting quality consists of 80% real leather and 20% natural rubber - which then is dyed and decorated with beautiful surface structures and patterns. It holds outstanding physical characteristics, such as being water repellent, durable and easy to clean.

All their products are available in a gazillion colors and can be branded with for instance a hotel or restaurant logo.

Preben Lind - Founder of Lind DNA

LIND DNA was founded by Mr. Preben Lind, with the ambition to inspire consumers with table setting products and to rethink interior design products from a sustainable perspective.

The company makes no compromises with the quality of their products, while at the same time striving to reduce their footprint on the environment. They started in 2013 - with an idea to make a new and different design brand, based on recycled leather. With its own production and by using local suppliers, they create a timeless design, manufactured with respect for craftsmanship and the materials used.

Supplementing the large range of tablemats they have also designed matching nice small boxes, trays, stoneware, and small furniture - all made with recycled leather parts - and with the environment in mind. It is in fact a rather big range of highly attractive items, and their Hospitality Catalog is worth studying.
